What Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
- Account data: your name, email address, and phone number, collected when you register.
- Vault data: financial asset details, nominee information, uploaded documents, and any other information you choose to store in your Vault.
- Payment data: subscription payments are processed entirely by Razorpay Software Private Limited. We do not store your card number, CVV, bank account number, or UPI credentials.
- Usage and security data: login timestamps, device type, browser type, and IP address — collected solely for security audit logging and fraud prevention.
Why We Collect It
We collect and process your personal data to:
- Create and maintain your VirasatVault account
- Deliver the Family Wealth Continuity Platform service you subscribed to
- Process subscription payments securely via Razorpay
- Send health-check reminders, renewal notices, and security alerts
- Respond to your support and service queries
- Comply with applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
How We Protect Your Data
All vault data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard encryption protocols. Access to vault data is controlled by role-based permissions — only authorised users can view sensitive records. Multi-factor authentication is available and strongly recommended. Our infrastructure is hosted on Supabase, a SOC 2 compliant platform. We conduct regular security reviews and maintain immutable audit logs of all data access events.
Data Retention
Your personal data and vault contents are retained for the full duration of your subscription. Following account deletion or subscription expiry without renewal, data is retained for a maximum of 90 days to allow for dispute resolution, after which it is permanently deleted. You may request earlier deletion by emailing hello@virasatvault.com from your registered email address.
Your Rights Under DPDP
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, you have the following rights as a Data Principal:
- Right of Access: you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to Correction: you may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right to Erasure: you may request permanent deletion of your personal data, subject to our legal retention obligations.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: you may withdraw consent for non-essential data processing at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
- Right of Nomination: you may nominate another person to exercise your data rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.

Changes to This Policy
We will notify all registered users by email of any material changes to this Privacy Policy at least 14 days before they take effect. The updated policy will also be published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
